Bute Lodge No. 960 raises its Latest Candidate to a Master Mason in a superb Ceremony.

The latest Meeting of the venerable Bute Lodge No. 960 was held in the Lord Swansea Temple of the Cardiff Masonic Hall on the 7th April 2026.

The Bute Lodge No. 960 has been meeting in Cardiff since 1863 and is one of the original Cardiff Lodges.

The Meeting was opened by the Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Stephen J. Attwell, Past Provincial Grand Registrar, assisted by the Officers of the Lodge and in the presence of a large number of Guest Attendees. The domestic business of the Lodge having received due attention, the main focus of the evening was commenced.

The Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Stephen J. Attwell P.Pr.G.Reg proceeded to undertake the preparatory discourse with the Candidate for the evening, Brother Sylvester Eladoebi Deinsah, a Fellow Craft Freemason, who responded in good form.

The Candidate having retired from the Lodge, the room was suitably prepared for a Third Degree Ceremony. Brother Sylvester Eladoebi Deinsah was re-admitted to the Lodge and an excellent Ceremony was performed by Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Stephen J. Attwell P.Pr.G.Reg. superbly assisted by Worshipful Brother Philip J. Stock, Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies with the Officers of the Lodge and also to the great satisfaction of the Visitors.

The Lodge was then closed and the Brethren repaired to the Lord Swansea Suite of the Cardiff Masonic Hall where the participants were treated to the excellent fare for which the Cardiff Hall is well known.

The Bute Lodge No. 960 meets at the Cardiff Masonic Hall, Guildford Crescent, Cardiff on the First Tuesday in February, April, October and December.
